Today I will be briefly writing about how we should get back in touch with the things we love doing.
I’m going to start this blog post off with 2 questions though.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE DOING?
WHAT’S YOUR PASSION?
Today, I was reminded of (it’s going to sound so crazy, lol but please bare with me) I was reminded of my passion to truly write. Well… Actually, it started yesterday!
Let me explain
Soooooooooo.. Yesterday, my LTC (Lieutenant colonel) was briefing the entire battalion on how he needed a junior enlisted soldier (I qualify) to become the soldier who basically tells our Units story in the Army news article. Meaning that junior enlisted soldiers Job is going to be to write, write, and write some more… My God… My heart! You guys know my heart, face, soul, and just everything lit right up after hearing him say he needed a soldier to fill that job position.
……. long story short, I was denied to even apply for the position due to my company needing me in the office I’m working in now!
No disrespect to my company or anything, but listen that made me very upset because It’s my hearts desire to write! The beauty behind words is just astonishing; which is why I just love writing, and using my words to create pictures, thoughts, and feelings in those who read my writing. However, the Lord spoke to my heart seconds after my flesh decided it wanted to feel some type of way. —– For those of you who are in-tuned with the Holy Spirit, you know what I mean when I say “The spirit checked me real quick!”
The spirit basically reminded me of WHO God said I was, and also reminded me of my blog page. Lol — funny huh?
I thought it was funny that the spirit reminded me of my blog page because it was like a “duhhh” moment…. Why was I allowing myself to get upset over something I can do any day and everyday on my blog page?
It was in that very moment that I realized that the Lord used my situation to inspire me to start writing on my blog page daily.. (I’m going to try, lol)
“Inspiration creeps in after denial has transpired.” – Terran Z. Brodie
After that experience, I started self reflecting and I began to think about ALL of the other activities I loved doing that I no longer was participating in and as I was thinking of them I instantly started to feel a sense of PEACE. A warmth feeling came upon my heart and a smile formed on my face.. It was in those moments that I knew I was going to blog about getting back in touch with the things you love doing.
It’s just so important to do what you love.
Because you will have a higher self-esteem, you’ll be at peace with yourself, you’ll be a lot more motivated and proactive, and your mental health will be 100% where you need it to be.
Example.. Before I joined the military, anyone who knew me knew that I loved going to a park, beach, or anywhere that had a body of water because it brought so much peace to my soul. Side note– I LOVE PEACE! My peace means everything to me and anything and everything that tries to disturb it gets the front door out of my life. — back to what I was saying. I loved going to places where bodies of waters were found.
Well Glory to God
I found a nice little spot here where I’m stationed at that I can drive to when I need to gather my thoughts and collect every piece of my peace. What a blessing!!
“Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” ESV
GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH DOING WHAT YOU LOVE!!!!
Your peace matters.
Your hearts desires are important to God!
Your happiness matters.
Your smiling faces matter!
Being whole and comfortable with being yourself matters.
YOU SIMPLY MATTER.
I don’t know who this is for, but STOP allowing others to dictate what you do with your life. The word says that God knows the plans he has for us. NOT mommy or daddy knows. NOT brother or sister knows. NOT best friend, boyfriend, girlfriend knows.. BUT GOD knows the plans he has for us.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” NIV
So please, get back in touch with the things that make you who you are and LOVE doing them. Love achieving them & Always remember to do it all with love. (1 Corinthians 16:14)
Now.. How about you try it? Try thinking about ALL of the things you enjoy doing?
How’d that make you feel?
Wonderful I bet!
Now SOAR and go after everything God has placed in your heart to do.
Thank you for reading.
